Watson & Son Ltd maintains an operation that is fully integrated from the hive to market, placing our company in a unique position to manage every stage in the production of Manuka honey and to ensure full traceability back to the hive. In line with our commitment to produce premium Manuka Honey every step in the production chain has been carefully considered to ensure our honey is of the highest standard in purity and quality.
We currently operate thousands of hives on sites situated from Cape Reinga in the North Island to Invercargill in the South Island. Each site is government registered and identified with a GPS locator. Honey is harvested and then extracted at our processing plant in Masterton. We pack in our own food-grade facility, and honey is also transferred to various contract manufacturers who produce a range of pharmaceutical lines for our Watson & Son ManukaMed branded products.
The company has packing and processing facilities in both New Zealand and Europe allowing optimum delivery to Global customers.
About Watson & Murray
Rapine Murray and Denis Watson’s are business partner’s in Watson & Murray Associates. His mother Saana Waitai Murray is a respected elder throughout New Zealand and is known for her efforts to protect the natural environment and its resources. Together both whanau (families) share the same vision, in which they hope to achieve a bright future for their Maori people, through the management and protection of their Manuka resources.
The Far North itself is a spectacular area boasting approximately 14,000 square kilometers of landmass with a population of just 148,000 people. This land offers isolated, unspoiled Manuka forest with sub tropical weather making it the perfect place to harvest high quality active Manuka honey.
Watson and Murray Associates both own and lease land where Manuka flourishes. We have also implemented innovative planting programs, taking long-term leases on former pine forestry land and re-planting it in native Manuka.
